O's-Angels, End Of The Trax?

Steve Trachsel might not be long for the starting rotation. After his performance against the Angels (3 IP, 7 H, 6 R, 2 BB, 2 K, 3 HR) I would be surprised if he gets more than a couple chances to keep his job. He now has a 7.42 ERA with more walks (19) than strike-outs (13). Those six runs did the team in, as the bullpen, starting from recently recalled Lance Cormier for three innings and then Sarfate and Jim Johnson for an inning each kept LA off the board.

The offense broke out a little bit with 15 hits including a pair of home runs (by Mora and a shot to deep left center by Nick) but were only able get five runs across due in large part to poor baserunning. The usually solid Brian Roberts got caught trying to steal third base in their two run first inning (despite five hits) and was picked off of first in the ninth, but there was more.

The lose also costs the O's the series, and drops them to 16-15; three games behind the Red Sox. The Angels are 20-13, a game ahead of the A's, and 6.5 ahead of both the Rangers and the Mariners (both 13-19). Those second place A's will host the O's for a three game set starting Monday.
